THREE SPEECHKATEERS
Julie (nee Cameron) Crawford, @ www.teamknit.blogspot.comKate Marshall-Flaherty lives in Toronto with her husband and three children. She leads poetry sweatshop workshops, guides meditation and mindfulness retreats, and is a founding member of the Children's Peace Theatre Toronto. She celebrated the launch of her first book, entitled Tilted Equilibrium, this May 2006, and launched her first CD, Deepening Stillness, in June.
She has read from this and her new manuscript at Toronto's Art Bar, Toronto WordStage, and at the LCP's AGM in Ottawa this year. She has won several awards for her poetry, is published in a number of magazines and anthologies, and made the shortlist for the Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry, Nimrod Journal 2006, and others.
Kate won the Toronto Art Bar's Poetry Slam 2005, and the Toronto Art Bar's Poetry Sweatshop Contest in 2004. She has been filmed and interviewed for Bravo's Heart of the Poet series twice in 2005 and 2006. She has participated in The Banff Centre's Writing With Style Program twice, and leads a Poetry Writing Workshop at University of Toronto's Continuing Ed. SMC Campus. Poetry is her first love, and continues to be her life-line.

Nik Beat has been a practising poet for the last 17 years based in Toronto Canada. Beat has been published in numerous anthologies throughout the world and has been translated into Hungarian, French, Hebrew and Italian. Nik Beat's work has been published in book form as a collection of poetry in two books: 'Cartoon Rome' and 'The Tyranny of Love'.Beat is one of the founders of the Neo-Beat literary scene in Toronto Canada. Also, for the last 10 years he has been hosting a spoken word show called 'Howl' on CIUT 89.5 FM radio.

Cayle commenced her career as part of the cast of the acclaimed Canadian film Goin' Down The Road and has worked as an actor, writer, producer/director, teacher and off-line editor for the past twenty years.In Los Angeles, she worked for Henry Jaglom as writer/actor on his second film Tracks that starred Dennis Hopper. Cayle adapted Anais Nin's erotic novel Cities of the Interior into a screenplay for Jaglom's International Rainbow Pictures. More ...

Poet bissett was in Toronto May 14, 2009 to launch the book, 'griddle talk' co-authored with Carol Malyon, whom I met for the very first time.
